I am new to emergency communications. Many others have gone before me, and have done a fantastic job both in simulated and real-world situations. I hope to offer fresh perspective and my own unique views, ideas and experience to the mix, and contribute in whatever way I can.

It has always been my belief that there are many ways to solve a problem. The antithesis of this belief is the "it can't be done" or "it can only be done this way" attitude. Though there is often no need to re-invent the wheel, approaching a problem, roadblock or hurdle with the idea that there are many ways over, around or through helps me keep my mind open and my options varied.

Education, participation, preparedness. To me, understanding what is going on in the world of emergency communication will make me more useful in an emergency, regardless of the level of involvement I have time and energy for in emcomm activities, volunteering, etc.
